Schoessow/Deich/George Christmas 2014

Today we hosted the Schoessow/Deich/George Christmas! Even though one family was unable to come due to the flu, Tim & Amber's, we still had fun but sure did miss them. We started the festivities out by eating of course! The kids were so excited to see each other right away so they all went downstairs to get some playing time in and us adults took full advantage of eating in quietness and great conversation!

Once everyone did eat the adults announced who they had for their secret relative that year. Pops had Toni, Mom had Tom, Toni had Pops, Ken had Tim, Terry had Mom, Sandra had Ken, Tim had me, Amber had Sandra, I had Terry and Tom had Amber; it sure was fun getting spoiled and blessing someone else. Ken also gave Ava a gift to say sorry for the Spoons incident at Thanksgiving which we all still had a good laugh at retelling the story!

We then started on our Gingerbread House making contest! We had three different themes; Train Depot, Farm and a Castle. We took pictures of the final product texted them to Tim and Amber so that they could be the judges. The winner was the Train Depot; Team Pops but we demoted him due to him being stingy with putting on enough frosting so it became Team Emma and she won the prize!

There was plenty of time for foosball and legos of course before we ate lunch; salad, lasagna, yummy bread and apple crisp.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

D6 Christmas

Happy Birthday Jesus!

What a super fun and relaxing day; we even all took a nap!!! The boys were super excited to open their gifts; they each got nerf guns, legos, superhero costumes. Sawyer also got a crossbow, Mason received another nerf gun and Carter got a Spidey bouncy ball. I was also surprised by a gift from my friend Laci Jamison, two Devotional CD's! We also, as always, enjoyed opening our socks from Aunt Toni that she gets for us during her travels!

We enjoyed delicious pizza for lunch and a yummy birthday cake for dessert! Tom also did an excellent job serving us all sparkling grape juice in our super fancy cups! There was only one injury in the entire day; Mason fell off his chair.

It is always a great day when you are surrounded by your family, making memories, laughing together, building legos and having nerf gun wars!

"Where's Baby Jesus?"

"Where's Baby Jesus?" was the Christmas Program that the kids of Grace Bible Church performed for us today and they did an amazing job! This year Sawyer was super excited that he got to ring two bells, red and blue, and was able to be a Shepard. Mason was excited for his orange bell and that he did not have to be a sheep this year! We were really proud of both of them for how well they did on stage! MieMie and Papa also joined going to church this morning so they were also there to witness the great program! Afterwards MieMie and Papa treated us all to lunch at Pizza Ranch!

Baby Deich 8 weeks

I have been experiencing some pretty intense lower back pain, stomach cramping and just feeling off with this pregnancy. Last night while camping at Lake Kegonsa State Park the pain was so severe in the back followed by throwing up that we ended up loading up our sleeping boys at 11:30pm and headed home. By the time morning came I had decided that I could not take feeling this way any longer and called Dr. Strabel's office to schedule my first OB appointment. After telling the receptionist my pains she informed that my Dr was working today and wanted me to come in at 10:45.

When I arrived I had no idea that it would be 3 hours later until we figured out what was causing the pain. As I was telling my Dr how I was feeling she decided to measure my stomach. According to my calculations I was about 8 weeks along but I was actually measuring at 20 weeks. This started to create concern for her. She then tried to listen to the heartbeat but was unable to find one. After sending my down for some blood labs, 7 viles total, I was then sent to the hospital for an ultrasound. At this point she was concerned that perhaps the baby had stopped developing or I was carrying twins and they were still to small to hear the heartbeat.

At this point my nerves were starting to build up but I still assured Tom that he was fine not coming because we did not know what was going on. Tom was at a Golf Tournament with Ken and Tim. I am also super thankful for modern technology that I was actually able to send a quick text message to my whole family asking them to pray.

Once the Ultrasound Tech began the ultrasound his facial expressions started to concern me as well. He had a puzzled look on his face that I was not able to read whether it was good or bad. I then tilted my head to try and see the screen. He tilted the screen towards me and said, "Well we have two things going on. One, your baby is doing fine. Two, it appears you have a very large cyst on your ovary." I immediately was relieved to hear those words that my baby was okay! We checked out the baby first and what a little miracle he/she is! Baby Deich is measuring right at 8 weeks with a heartbeat of 167/minute. I was even able to pick out the heart fluttering away, it was amazing!

Onto the massive cyst on my right ovary. After looking at it further it was confirmed that it is on my ovary and it is so large that we could not even see my right ovary until we did the internal ultrasound. He informed me that a normal size cyst is about 1cm and a 2cm cyst will start causing pain and discomfort. I asked how large my cyst was and he measured it at 15cm! He admitted that he has seen them this large before but never on a pregnant woman. It is a Simple Cyst which means that it is filled with just fluid not making it cancerous.

The next step is going to an OB Specialist where they will insert a needle to remove the fluid from the cyst. After a roller coaster of nerves today I am sitting here extremely thankful for my healthy Baby and for the fact that it's just a simple cyst that can be easily taken care of! My God is good All the time!

Mary Poppins

Today my Mom took us all on a Schoessow Girl's Day Out! She took us to The Fireside to see the musical "Mary Poppins"!

My Mom picked me up and then we picked up Sandra, Emma, Ava and Brenna. I sat in the back of the van with the girls so that I could finally see the movie "Frozen"; I was pretty excited! Toni, Amber, Lexie and Audrey meet us at The Fireside. We all enjoyed a delicious lunch! There was so much food that most of the girls were full after their starter plate full of fruit. Brenna however still had room for her ice cream sundae and Emma's! Aunt Toni saved the day with Audrey and was able to convince her to eat some food; she was not feeling the greatest. I just had to show off my scrumptious cheesecake to Tom!

We all enjoyed the watching the musical and it sure was fun to watch the faces of the girls while they watched. I had a fabulous time enjoying some girl time with my nieces!
