Deer Creek Campground

Our final camping trip of the season was spent at Deer Creek Campground in Cambria. This was our first camping trip to Deer Creek Campground and it will also be our last. We were not overly impressed with the place; it was small, lack of privacy, not much to do and loud at night. We ended up getting creative with our activities and still had fun.

We visited Grandma Annie so that we could get some wood for our campfire. She then gave us a yellow watermelon that she grew in her own garden; it was delicious! We also went to Great Grandma Deich's house to have dinner with her and Grandma Annie. On our way there we stopped at the cemetery so that Tom could show us where his Dad and Grandpa are buried.

We spent a little time at MieMie & Papa to help cool down from the heat. Later that day they joined us at the mini golf course at the campground. Mason had a very frustrating time getting the ball into the hole and he insisted that no one help him which just made the whole experience not very enjoyable for him. Carter had a blast climbing around and checking out every hole no matter what it took to get to the hole. That evening the campground brought in a one man band to play some music; it was right across from our campsite. We had fun dancing around with MieMie and Papa and eating S'Mores; I am dancing with mine!
